About Treg Bernt

As a former President of the City of Meridian Parks & Recreation Commission, former Commissioner on the Meridian Impact Fees Commission, and as a Meridian Planning & Zoning Commissioner, Treg Bernt has immersed himself and rolled up his sleeves to help guide the growth of Meridian. It's given him not only the experience Meridian residents expect out of a prospective city councilman, but also the knowledge of what to look for and what to ask, so Meridian's growth continues to be beneficial, not just growth for growth sake.

As a small businessman, Treg understands first-hand the burden of excessive regulations. That's why he, Mayor Tammy de Weerd and other city council members who have endorsed his candidacy are committed to accelerating economic development by diligently minimizing regulations on business.

As a husband and father of three, Treg's number one commitment is to his God and family. This commitment extends beyond his own home, as Treg seeks to ensure Meridian's neighborhoods, downtown and parks continue to be places where families can grow closer together, and with others as well.

Faith is also a very big part of Treg's life. He believes his church responsibility -- working with the 11-year-old scouts -- provides him with the perfect opportunity to not only mentor future leaders, but to also enjoy camping and fishing with them too.

Treg's an avid outdoorsman. He loves to spend time in the mountains, especially snowboarding with family and friends. He also loves to fly fish and hunt in the fall.
