Meet Treg...

Senator Treg A. Bernt is a 4th generation Idahoan. He was born and raised in Pocatello, ID and graduated from Pocatello High School. Treg also attended Idaho State University and graduated with a B.A. in Speech Communication. Listening to others and relating to their joys and concerns became a life-long priority.

Treg and his family moved to Meridian from Pocatello in 2003. He was a Territory Manager for Shaw Industries, a flooring manufacturer. In 2015, Treg decided to go into business for himself and has owned and operated his own flooring business in the Treasure Valley that is ran in conjunction with his family’s flooring business in Pocatello. Treg has always valued the importance of small business, the backbone of communities and our country.

Public service through community involvement is an important characteristic that Treg values greatly. He has served our Meridian community in several roles since 2007.

Treg was recently elected to serve in the Idaho State Senate, representing the citizens of Meridian in District 21. Before his election to the Senate, Treg was elected twice to the Meridian City Council. The last 2 years of his first term on council, Treg was elected by his peers to serve as City Council President.

Treg serves as Vice-Chair on the State Affairs Committee and also serves on the Local Government & Taxation Committee.  Along with his committee assignments, Treg was also appointed to serve on the Idaho Broadband Advisory Board and was elected by members of the Senate Republican Caucus to serve on the Legislative Council.

” All great change in America begins at the dinner table.” – Ronald Reagan

Family first! Over the years, he has also shared his values and desire to be involved in his kid’s lives through the Boy Scouts of America, he coached Y-ball and competitive soccer, and has dedicated his deep faith in God with many responsibilities to his church. Through his experience and involvement, Treg has gained important perspective when making critical and strategic decisions that impact the lives of residents in his role serving in the Idaho State Senate.

If Treg isn’t working or at the Capitol; you will find him on a river fly fishing, on a snow board shredding powder, hunting in the mountains, on a golf course with his wife, playing pickle ball with his 6:30am crew at Settlers Park, or spending quality time with his wife, Tiffanie and his 3 children.

Please reach out if you’re a concerned Meridian resident or if you’re interested in supporting Treg in the Idaho State Senate. He is always available to listen. He can be reached at his Senate email at tbernt@senate.idaho.gov, at his campaign email at treg@tregbernt.com, or at any of his social media platforms.
